When to Consult

Consult your doctor when symptoms persist, worsen, or disrupt daily life.

Consult Immediately If:

  • High-Risk Exposure (within 72 hours) Unprotected sex with stranger, needle-stick injury, sexual assault - PEP can prevent infection
  • Early Symptoms Fever, rash, sore throat, swollen lymph nodes within 2-4 weeks of exposure
  • Known Partner Diagnosis Your sexual partner has been diagnosed with HIV or other STD

Regular Consultation Recommended:

  • Multiple sexual partners
  • Unprotected sexual activity
  • Injection drug use
  • Other STD diagnosis
  • Planning pregnancy with seropositive partner
